Robin Greer
“Dr” Robin Greer looks to be one of the two people that Answers in Genesis announced it would recruit by the end of 2006 or so. His bio can be seen at http://www.answersingenesis.org/events/bio.aspx?Speaker_ID=64 .
Greer is understood to have been a Presbyterian minister in Northern Ireland before joining Answers in Genesis UK. He looks set to start on the AiG speaking circuit in February 2007.
The immediate thing that struck us from the Answers in Genesis bio of Greer was his qualifications. This included “two doctorates from the European Theological Seminary, Birmingham: a PhD in history and a DTh for his thesis on 'Evolution, Fact or Fiction?'"
To put it bluntly the European Theological Seminary, Birmingham, isn’t in Birmingham. It’s in Northern Ireland. What’s more it was a diploma mill (now closed) with degrees that appear to be unrecognised by anyone. Whilst it suggests that its faculty have piles of PhDs between them, careful checking has failed to throw any light on where many of them got their PhDs.
We have to point out that Greer also has degrees from recognised universities (Coleraine and Aberdeen) as well.
