Arthur Jones
Dr Arthur Jones, another signatory to the Estelle Morris letter, has also been an adviser to the Christian Schools Trust (see http://www.christianschoolstrust.co.uk). He appears to have been very sympathetic towards Answers in Genesis. Despite a PhD in Zoology from University of Birmingham (in 1972) he appears never to have worked as a scientist. He has been a tutor and course writer at Sarum College in Salisbury, a theological school founded in 1995.
He appears to be author of a number of creationist articles including: A Creationist Critique of Homology, Creation Research Society Quarterly 19(3):166–75, 1982 and 20(2):122, 1983 and The Genetic Integrity of the “Kinds” (Baramin)—A Working Hypothesis, Creation Research Society Quarterly 19(1):13–18, 1982.
His creationist testimony can be seen at http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/Area/isd/jones.asp
Jones is a trustee of Genesis Agendum and is on the scientific panel of Truth in Science. He is a director of the Association of Christian Teachers and is trying to force YEC onto them.
Note: ACT is an Evangelical organisation and has members from across the evangelical spectrum and that includes YECers.
It is understood that there is a major split in the organisation between YECers and mainstream believers. This apparently can be observed from the publications they offer. The split has been long-standing.
